AO3 Forest Ranger
All Aspects Recruitment & HR Services are seeking candidates for AO3 Forest Ranger positions based in multiple locations. They are temporary roles until 30/6/2025 with the possibility of extension.
- $49.40 p/h including casual loading
- Locations include Rockhampton and Maryborough.
Duties include:
- Undertake tree selection and/ or tree assessment work, inspect the operational timber harvesting area for site disturbance / impacts for compliance with environmental and safety standards.
- Assist with the preparation of sale proposals for designated forest products including Operational Plans.
- Implement practices, policies, and procedures for harvesting and marketing of designated forest products.
- Assist with administering the provisions of the Forestry Act 1959 and other relevant Acts and Regulations.
- Contribute to the effective, cost efficient and environmentally sound implementation of operational programs.
- Assist with monitoring permittee compliance with applicable codes, systems, procedures, and other specified requirements.
- Assist in managing risks associated with the harvesting and marketing of native timber and forest products.
- Participate in meetings with industry, clients, lessees, landowners, community groups and other stakeholders in relation to forest products sales.
- Strive for a consistently high standard of compliance to environmental, risk management, ethical conduct and workplace health and safety standards associated with native timber and forest activities.
- Contribute to the monitoring and audit function for forest product operations.
- Load and unload up to 20kg of equipment from vehicles and/ or trailers.
- Operate a four-wheel drive, quad bike/ side-by-side or motor bike in a forest environment, sometimes in extreme offroad conditions for long hours.
- Walk long distances in outdoor environments. (e.g. uneven terrain, vegetation, steep ascents / descents, varying topography etc.) whilst carrying up 10 kgs of equipment.
- Undertake safety preparation including weekly itinerary, vehicle pre-start inspections, and preparate of safety equipment.
Skills and Capabilities:
- Possession of a current Queensland C Class driver’s license or equivalent
- The ability to obtain proficiency in ArcGIS products, google earth or other equivalent spatial mapping programs.
- Ability to load / unload equipment from vehicle / trailer, up to 20 kgs.
- Regular travelling and working away from headquarters (including bush camping in some regions) is a requirement of this position.
- Ability to work in a Forest Products role undertaking a range of operational tasks working outdoors, relevant knowledge of, or ability to learn about Forest Products practices and policies, guidelines and environmental standards associated with the sale and removal of State native forest timber products or quarry materials
