Job Title: Refrigeration Mechanic
Location: Darwin, Northern Territory
Salary: $50.00 - $65.00 per hour + penalties, depending on experience
Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified and experienced Refrigeration Mechanic to join our client's team in Darwin, Northern Territory. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems in various settings. If you have supervisory experience, our client will offer an attractive hourly rate of $65.00 plus penalties, along with a company vehicle. For those without supervisory experience, the rate ranges from $50.00 to $55.00 per hour plus penalties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
- Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting to ensure systems operate efficiently.
- Diagnose and rectify system malfunctions using advanced diagnostic tools.
- Recharge refrigerants and comply with all relevant environmental regulations.
- Supervise and mentor junior mechanics, if applicable, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates and recommendations.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Relevant Australian qualifications as a Refrigeration Mechanic.
- Experience in residential and commercial refrigeration systems.
- Commercial/Industrial/Residential HVAC experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid/Current NT driver's license
- Supervisory experience preferred for higher pay rate.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of lifting heavy equipment and working in various environmental conditions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call shifts as necessary.
